Ezili being summoned by Yejide to right a wrong.
Yejide (her name is from the Yoruba "in the image of her mother) is a former slave who escaped to the bayou over two hundred years ago. Shortly after her escape, locals started telling stories about a huge black stallion with a skull face that appeared just before a flood or a fire. Some said that the horse brought calamities of nature; others said it brought death itself. A few years later, word spread about another horse, a mare with bones in her hide and murder in her eyes. Rapists, adulterers, and anyone who profaned the name of love fell before her. Rumor has it that if you venture into the bayou at night, you might catch a glimpse of Yejide and her horses. She might even speak to you, or agree to help you take revenge on your enemies . . . for a price. * * * Wheee! Okay, lame backstory aside, this is a giftie for There's still a few things I don't like about this, but I'll make it worse if I keep screwing around with it. Please, do not give me any shite about this picture. It is a gift, and as such it is not meant to be critiqued. Ezili belongs to ~frisket17 Yejide belongs to me. |

This is the best kind of person to talk to: someone who is willing to take an honest look at the evidence. Being willing is essential. Evidence cannot convince the unwilling.
