Whoopsie, turns out that Ariel was one of the old-school, prince-drowning mermaids. Sorry, Eric!

Suddenly, Triton's freakout at finding her trophy stash makes a lot more sense.

That was originally part of the Little Mermaid (not disney of course) but blah blah blah she was supposed to kill him to return to being a mermaid but she didn't thus died herself *skipping over like half the story*t

Anyways I really like this piece
Her expression is what really does it
anyways sorry for rambling, this is a great pic

Haha, yeah, I'm familiar with the original Hans Christian Anderson story. I actually like the Disney one better, just because Ariel doesn't end up trapped in a hellish non-existence where she tries to earn her soul so she can go to heaven.

Haha okay didn't know, and yeah the Disney one is much happier :) Though it is kinda funny they took such a morbid story and made it into a little kids movie

That would be cool! I saw the Daniel Radcliff version, but it was really good! Though i don't know if that is the original story or modified

it's amazing how the lighting and position of the eyelids and eyebrows completely change the mood it's really brilliant I haven't seen the movie in years and if i didn't remember the climax I would have thought this actually happened
